The Vancouver Aquarium

Yesterday mom and dad took me to the Vancouver Aquarium for the day. We had so much fun. I saw lots of animals and fish that I've never seen before. I saw whales, dolphins, turtles, lots of different fish, sharks and even a crocodile. Here are some pictures of us from our outing.

Dad, dad, dad ..... you are such a bad influence giving me beer!! Just kidding, we all know I take after my mom and grandpa .. hehehe - I am a Beldam after all aren't I??!!

I can now sit all by myself!!!! I'm not totally stable yet but I'm getting better at keeping my balance and I can sit there for quite awhile now without any help.

I've learnt how to hold my own bottle now. I don't do it all the time yet but once in awhile I will to give my mom a little break from feeding me.

My new room - stage 1

My mom started renovating my new room on the weekend. Here are some pictures of the beginning stages and as more things get done I will add them on here for everyone to see how the progress is going.

Here a shot of me lying in my new bed for the very first time. Mom wanted to get me Disney Princess bedding but couldn't find any crib bedding, only ones for a regular bed so I'll have to wait for those when I'm older so I decided to go with Care Bears. The colours are going to match perfect with my walls when they get painted.

My new 4 in 1 bed that mom and dad bought me. It goes from a crib to a toddler bed to a day bed to a regular bed. Wow mom sure is quite the "handy-man" to put that all together by herself with only a little bit of help from dad. Way to go mom!!!

Mom and dad went to the fair at the Seattle Space Needle on the weekend and here is a picture of me and all my new stuffed animals that my dad won me playing the carnival games. Wow he must love me a lot to win this many!!!

Mother's Day

So mom and I had our first Mother's Day yesterday. We had lots of fun. We went in the Run for Mom with grandma in the morning then came home and Uncle Drew cooked everyone brunch. I bought my mom a gift certificate for Bellis Fair cuz I know how much she likes to shop so we are going to use it later this week. We got grandma a nice framed picture of mom and I and I also made clay footprint impressions and gave them to grandma in a frame with my picture beside them. She loved it!!!! Here is a picture of mom and I on Mother's Day and I'm very excited to have many more with her.

Here's some pictures of me and Rocky. He's licking my ear trying to get used to me. I'm still not totally sure about him and get a little overwhelmed sometimes by him when I'm on the floor but I love being on the couch watching him trying to jump and get me which he can't. I laughed so hard at him the other day I got the hiccups!!

My first MVA

6 months old and I've already been in my first car accident. Last night me, mom and grandma had to drive nana to Bellingham cuz she's going to Arizona for a couple weeks. On the way home we stopped in at dad's house to say hi then headed back to Canada. Just past #3 Road my grandma hit a huge object in the middle of the highway. There was no way of avoiding it. After she gained control of the car we went to the side of the road and my mom noticed that half the bumper was gone and the radiator was smashed and pushed into the engine so we couldn't drive the car. At one point the radiator started smoking and grandma made me get out of the car to be safe. It sure was cold outside but after the smoke went away I was aloud back in the car. Grandma called 911 and eventually the cops showed up to check it all out. They never found what we hit and there were like 4 other cars that hit something also but we were the only ones with major damage so we had to get the car towed. After sitting there on the side of the road for like an hour grandpa came and drove me and mom home while the cops drove Uncle Kev and grandma to Tim Hortons and grandpa picked them up there. I was a very good girl through the whole thing and slept through most of the waiting time. Thankfully no one was hurt and we will all be fine!!

My first DQ ice cream cone

Yesterday I went out for lunch with the girls ... mom, Auntie Sherry and Auntie Cheryl. We went to BP then to DQ for ice cream afterwards. I sure had lots of fun hanging out with everyone for the afternoon ... especially on such a nice, hot, sunny and beautiful day.

6 months .... talking, rolling and eating real food!!!

Guess what everyone?? I said my first word on Friday ... Dada!! I don't know what it means and right now everything is dada but when I said it for the first time I was looking right at dad and he was so happy and excited. I also rolled over again all by myself. I haven't done that since the first time I rolled over and this time it was from my back to my stomach and I'm getting pretty good at it. Pretty soon I'll be rolling over all the time.

I still haven't broken a tooth through yet but I'm working on it and will be sure to let everyone know when I do.

Look at me go!!! I'm now eating real baby food for lunch and dinner. My favourites right now are peas and sweet potatoes. I sure do make a mess while I'm eating. My mom is always finding little pieces of food in my hair and all over the place when I'm done.

Wow, I can't believe I'm 6 months already. Time is going by way to fast!!! The past 10 days I've been in the States at my dad's house. I had so much fun while I was there visiting grandma and grandpa Tolsma and all the rest of my family that I can't wait to go back. It is good to be home though to see grandma and grandpa because I missed them like crazy!!

Mom and dad bought me a new 4 in 1 bed for my new room and next time we're at my dad's house we are painting my new princess room and setting up my bed so I can sleep in there for the first time ever. I'm very excited to have my own room and will show everyone pictures once mom and dad finish it up.

I just had my 6 months checkup and the doctor said that I'm very healthy. I'm 18 pounds and growing like a weed. He said I'm doing so good that I don't have to have another checkup until I'm 1 year old.
